About the role
ClassGear is growing quickly with teachers and parents who love the product, and we're ready to invest seriously in marketing leadership. As Head of Marketing, you'll be the first dedicated marketing hire and will set the strategy, build the team, and own the growth roadmap.
You'll work closely with the founder and product team to translate what makes ClassGear resonate with teachers into repeatable, scalable acquisition and retention channels.
What you'll do
- Define and execute ClassGear's overall marketing strategy across brand, content, SEO, and paid acquisition
- Build and manage a marketing budget with clear ROI targets and reporting
- Own the brand voice and creative direction across the website, email, and social channels
- Develop lifecycle and retention campaigns that turn first-time list creators into repeat users
- Stand up and manage a small team of specialists or agency partners as the function scales
- Partner with product and engineering to launch features with strong go-to-market plans
- Establish marketing analytics and reporting so leadership always knows what's working
What we're looking for
- 7+ years in marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior or head-of-function leadership role
- Track record of driving measurable growth at a consumer or edtech startup
- Hands-on experience across content, SEO, email/lifecycle, and paid channels
- Comfortable operating with lean resources and building processes from scratch
- Excellent written communication and a strong sense of brand and voice
Nice to have
- Experience marketing to teachers, schools, or parents
- Familiarity with affiliate or marketplace-driven revenue models
- Prior experience as a first marketing hire at an early-stage startup
